What happens after the photo

From pour to feedback. In a minute.

A pitcher pours a heart into the cup, the cup is photographed, the coach marks two spots, estimates 64 out of 100 points and gives a tip.

  1. 01You pour.A heart, right at the machine.
  2. 02You take a photo.Cup from above, good light. That’s it.
  3. 03Your coach looks closely. He marks exactly where it goes wrong.
  4. 04And tells you what to change. With a score, a level and a tip for your next pour.

Patterns

Four patterns. Each with its own standard.

A heart is judged differently from a swan. Besides these four, lattecoach also recognises the winged tulip.

  • Heart

Where everyone starts. Symmetry, contrast and a clean tip count.

  • Tulip

Stacked layers that separate cleanly instead of running into each other.

  • Rosetta

Fine, even leaves and a stem that runs straight through the middle.

  • Swan

Wing, neck and head in one pour. For advanced baristas.

How it works

Three steps. Under a minute.

  1. Take a photo

Cup from above, good light. That’s all you need.

  2. Rated in under a minute

lattecoach recognises your pattern and rates it on six criteria. As an honest estimate, not an exam.

  3. Practise with focus

You see on the photo where it goes wrong and get concrete tips on pouring height, speed, milk foam and cup tilt.

Feedback

Mistakes you see. Not just read.

Numbered markers show you on the photo where it goes wrong. Each one comes with the reason and a tip for your next pour.

  1. 1

    The top layers stick together

Give each layer a short pause and start the next one a little further forward.

  2. 2

    Left wing runs out

Keep the cup tilted steadily until the layer has settled. Only then bring it upright.

Your coach: Your layers are there. What’s missing is patience: pause, then pour the next one.

You don’t need another tutorial. You need someone to look at your cup.

lattecoach sees what you poured and tells you honestly what to change next time. Short, specific, no fluff.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is lattecoach free?

For trying it out, yes: 3 analyses without signing up, then 3 analyses per week with a free account. If you practise daily, you can switch to Pro in the app.

Which patterns does lattecoach recognise?

Heart, tulip, rosetta, winged tulip and swan. If there is no latte art in the photo, the coach tells you instead of making something up.

Is the rating an official exam?

No. lattecoach rates by well-known latte art criteria with its own level system and isn’t affiliated with any certification body. The rating shows you where you stand, but it doesn’t replace an official exam.

How do I take a good photo?

Straight from above, in daylight or bright light, with the whole cup in the frame. Flash and strong reflections distort the contrast.

What happens to my photos?

Your analyses and photos are private. An analysis only becomes public if you create a share link yourself, and you can revoke it at any time.

Do I need an espresso machine?

No. What matters is fine milk foam. It’s easiest with an espresso machine, but the coach rates every photo, however the coffee was made.
